Booking & Usage Policy

Booking & Credit

Booking is "on hold" — not confirmed — until a major-label PO or cash/electronic deposit is received. Non-major-label clients (and clients without approved credit) must pay 50% in advance. The studio reserves the right to require payment in full before session start.

Minimum Booking

6-hour minimum unless special arrangements are made.

Session Start & Overtime

Session begins at the scheduled time regardless of client/file/equipment readiness. Same-day start time changes may incur extra charge. Overtime billed hourly for daily bookings beyond 12 hours: 10% of daily rate per hour.

Cancellation

48 hours notice minimum. Less than 48h notice: 50% cancellation fee. Less than 24h notice: the studio reserves the right to charge full session rate.

Runner & Rebill

A runner is usually available. Runs farther than 3 miles carry a $25 charge. The studio reserves the right to decline excessively long runs. Studio-paid purchases billed back to the client carry 20% rebill charge.

Client Session Files

The studio does not archive. Sessions are generally retained on studio computers 3–6 months (no guarantee). Stem creation, bounces, and file transfers count as session time.

Software Plug-ins

The studio maintains a vast in-house plug-in library — contact for details. To use plug-ins not installed on the system:

1. Bring an iLok and install it on the studio system
2. Rent the plug-in
3. Buy and temporarily install it
4. Bring your own system

A Mix Room employee handles all installs and uninstalls. No "cracked" plug-ins.

Past Due Accounts

Past-due accounts are subject to immediate collection or legal action. The client is liable for legal and collection fees. Invoices more than 30 days past due accrue 1.5% interest/month.
